the treatment for procrastination is permitting discomfort
it was about time i wrote something.
To stop me from postponing the start of this newsletter, I have at this moment, pulled myself away from dancing and smoking on the balcony while listening to Dido’s Everything To Lose (Armin Van Buuren’s Remix) to writing these very words you are reading.
The treatment for procrastination is to allow yourself to experience the discomfort that comes with doing what you have to do when you have to do it and doing it well even though you have a strong desire to do something else that is comforting, easy and pleasurable.
However, my higher self has won and I am sitting here typing.
Why did I start this newsletter?
For starters, I needed a place where I could curse freely 🚬, a place to write what I like to write about, to write as Amanda, a person, not a therapist or a photographer; and to share these, dare I say, helpful and entertaining thoughts of mine.
I plan to write to you weekly about the human condition, emotion, existence, and some life shit as I experience them with the hope that they will resonate with you. If they do, share. Two of my goals are connection and companionship.
Why go through life alone when you can have virtual company through words shared, read and responded to? I think we will enjoy each other’s company very much.
As you read my random thoughts, questions, revelations about myself from sessions of meditation, and therapy, I encourage you to share. I will listen, read and respond - Not immediately sha because I have work, but I will.
